Scout hit the Adoption Lottery

2/26/2016

Abused, Shuffled Around then She hits the Lottery
We hear this question often, "I don't know how you foster and let them go, I could never let them get adopted". Fostering is hard on the heart, but read this happily ever after and you will see the reason we can let them go. Scout's story is sad. She was being abused and a nice family removed her from the situation, but their home was not ideal and she was not doing well there. Scout came to our program and not long after, hit the adoption lottery!
From Scout's New Mom & Dad
Hey Kellie!
It has almost been 1 year since we adopted our wonderful dog, Scout, from CDC. I just wanted to tell you how in love we are with her and how she has filled our lives with so much joy. She is doing really well in our home and loves to cuddle and go for walks. She is the sweetest dog, especially with our little neighbors, but packs a ferocious bark, which makes her a very talented guard dog:) I recently started working from home and think I would go crazy without her here to run around with all day. I have included some pictures so that you can see how she has changed our lives for the better! Thank you guys for all you do to save dogs! We feel truly blessed to call her "ours" !
Love, Matt, Devin, and Scout

"When we have time and how will we ever figure out how to do that list" Bill Davies is our Super Volunteer !

2/15/2016

We are so lucky to have such a talented volunteer that is willing to tackle our to do list projects. Bill (and sometimes his son Brad), have made several uniquely designed items for a very specific purpose that have been a tremendous help around our office.     Bill and his son Brad  just fixed some plumbing that was leaking and oddly installed.  Bill has made a huge dent in our handy man to-do list !  And don't you know Bill also deliveries library items to folks who are shut in and not able to get to the library.  What a great guy ! Check Bill out at his paid retired job,   https://www.facebook.com/daviesengineeringservices/?fref=ts
and call Bill & Brad if you need Engineering Services.

Andrew's Feline Fix

2/12/2016

Thanks to the Stern Family for our February 11, 2016 Feline Fix.  Andrew's Feline Fix is in loving  memory of Andrew Stern.  We scheduled half a day of usual surgeries and spayed/neutered all the kitties you see here.  There were barn cats all the way from Highland County and mostly stray or free roaming cats that the kind people you see here made the effort to spay/neuter before they added to the cat overpopulation problem.   Please spread the word, we will hold another Feline Fix on February 23, 2016.  Call to schedule your kitty for a $20 spay or neuter and rabies vaccine.
